Hello, Jack..I've been reading your answers here and I have learned so much already. You sound like a fantastic therapist who loves his profession and knows how to value himself.
I am a PTA myself and have graduated 5 years ago. After 4 years working in an outpatient clinic in NY, I have moved to Miami, FL and working for almost one year in a rehab setting and also with a home health company. I am still very new to the 1099 form and all that, and feel like I am been underpaid, 25/hour in the rehab and 35/hour for the home health (comparing a little with NY) ... what do you think??
The home health company is not very busy or if they are have only really far away patients from my house or from my work .. would like to see if I could contact other companies and get more patients..since I am still new to the home health field I am been careful and not taking more than 3-4 patients at a time..also, do you think you are making more money working on 1099 at the end of the day/year or payroll was better?
