I'm not sure if any one will read these boards or cares, but just in case there are those that do wander in and want to know the status, here is the update.
LaGuardia changed one of the classes noted above. SCH111 has since become a Statistics class. I'm not sure what that has to do with PTA, but it may become obvious in time. It is counted once. TEAS testing is standard and you must score above 55% for the PTA. You can take the test at any school, not just LaGuardia. There is a deadline for the test, but I'm sure it's different every semester so I can't tell anyone when that is.
As already mentioned, they count Key Courses twice and those classes remain the same.
I got an A in my 4 key courses, and received an A in Developmental Psychology and English 102. I did receive a C in Statistics. However, today I was told that I got into the program. I feel incredibly blessed.
I'm not sure what the lowest GPA was for the PTA program. A student asked, but the Prof seemed a little hesitant to answer. He said it might have been 3.6. I'm sure that after I speak with the other students I will be able to revise this board a little.
So my advice is to study hard for the Key Courses, don't freak out if your GPA is a little less than perfect and don't be scared to apply. The waiting period is the hardest month out of this whole process for sure.
Anyway, wishing everyone who finds this all the best.
Hi Mel,
Its been a while but I finally got into the LaGuardia PTA program. I had to retake all my basic pre-req's and reapplied.
Thank You again for all your information
All the best
