I am in need of some advice on what would be best as a career change. Right now I am a licensed cosmetologist currently working in a salon. I've been doing hair for about 2 years now and unfortunately I am not happy nor satisfied with what I do for a living. I need a career change. I have been looking into going back to school, I have a few career choices in the medical field. When I first got out of high school 4 years ago I looked into medical assisting as my first choice; but then turned it down because of the low pay. Now I am looking into it again because I truly to love helping people and feeling satisfied that I am making a difference. Although, in the back of my mind knowing that I will most likely never make up to twenty dollars an hour bothers me. My next step was looking into physical therapy assisting. I like the more hands on approach and the pay isn't bad at all. I've looked into my local community college, and certification as a physical therapy assistant requires a 2 year associates degree. I then started researching the education curriculum and some of the classes seem to be very challenging. My questions and concerns to whoever has any advice would be: What is a PTAs' daily duties? What is schooling like? Is there a high demand for PTAs? Anyone who is a PTA do you love your job? All feedback is appreciated, thank you for reading :)
