I am planning on going in the same route with CSCS. I am currently waiting to get accepted into the PTA program just to coordinate with being a CSCS. I want to get the best of both worlds, treating injuries so that the few injuries that happen won't be as bad when training. It opens up lanes to go either way in the fitness/rehab world. For me, it is the best route because I definitely do not want to be stuck with copious amounts of paperwork with being a DPT. Treating is more rewarding for me. DPT's work very hard for what they do and the majority of them that I work with say that they would be happier with less paperwork. Plus new grad PT's make close to or a little more as a PTA due to the amount of tuition pay back. But they are still rewarded when it balances out over the course of a few years then they start to make what a PT would make without tuition pay back.
